The heart of the city of Rhodes beats in its unique medieval town. The amazing castle with the Gran Magister's Palace, the museums, the wide pedestrian streets, as well as the numerous shops and restaurants within the massive Walls constitute a major attraction for millions of tourists every year.
The new town of Rhodes has all the characteristics of a contemporary bustling city. It has a vast market, with boutiques, restaurants, bars and clubs, while its seaside promenade, across the port, is truly breathtaking.
Take a walk in the city and check out the old mansions, the museums, the lovely garden Rodini, Monte Smith, the Aquarium and the new Casino.
Faliraki has a vibrant night life. With an excellent tourism infrastructure (like in the area of Ixia), it attracts thousands of people every summer. Its bustling center boasts jewelry stores, haute couture boutiques, restaurants, cafes, bars and famous clubs.
Luxury hotels, private organized beaches and shopping malls complement the scenery of this worldwide known resort.
Kallithea will travel you back in time. Exceptional and very well preserved Arabian monuments, hot springs, amazing buildings of Italian architecture and a lovely sandy beach. It's definitely worth a visit.
Lindos is an amazing, picturesque town with a much photographed ancient Acropolis, including the remnants of the Temple of Lindian Athena. Slowly ascend to the Acropolis and enjoy the scintillating view of Lindos bay and the sparkling emerald Mediterranean waters.
Then walk towards the town, with its narrow streets, the little shops and the traditional tavern with the lovely panoramic sea view.
The forest of Butterflies is a unique place of exceptional natural beauty. The evergreen valley is about 25 kilometers from the city of Rhodes and is filled with old trees like pines and plains, streams, little ponds and thousands of colorful butterflies that either fly or rest on tree trunks.
Bridges and narrow trails facilitate hiking in this small paradise. A cafe, a restaurant and a small museum can also be found there for rest, relaxation and information about the area.
This is by far the most famous beach of the island, which took its name from Virgin Mary Tsambika. Tsambika is also a very common name for girls in Rhodes. The beach is stunning: long, with golden sand and emerald waters, surrounded by an amazing pine forest whose trees reach all the way to the water.
Tsambika is fully organized, with sun beds, umbrellas, showers and beach bars.
You should definitely visit this archeological site with the exceptional findings, the temples, the agora and the acropolis of the ancient city.
We left the best for the ending. Prasonissi is the southernmost part of the island of Rhodes. This place is truly exotic. It's considered as the Surfers' Paradise, since the winds that blow there are really strong. During the winter, the two beaches are covered by the tide.
However, during the summer, visitors have the privilege to view two amazing, long sandy beaches. On one side the waters are calm and, on the other, the waves can be as high as 2 meters.
